Fall engagement photos might just be my all-time favorite. As the trees start to change color, I love to use any opportunity to escape the city with my couples and have a cozy Fall engagement shoot in the countryside. And that is exactly what we did with Kimberly and Pier-Olivier!
Kimberly and Pier-Olivier both work and live in Montreal, so when it came to their engagement session, they suggested to escape to their family’s cottage in Mont-Tremblant. Obviously, I was all in. Fall colors, fresh air, and the coziness of a fall engagement session – what can be better than that?
Fall shows us how beautiful it is to let things go and slow down. I didn’t think that I would ever admit it, but I started loving the quietness that comes with the anticipation of winter. The wedding industry is fast-paced and is ever-changing, so I learned to find inspiration in the slower months. I love the calming effect that Fall has on me and other wedding photographers in our studio, and I appreciate that it provides some time to reflect and perfect our craft.
When I was preparing for Kimberly and Pier-olivier’s engagement session, I knew that I wanted to keep things light and as candid as possible. They are both such cheerful and upbeat people, and I wanted their fun-loving and romantic personality to come out. I also wanted their Fall engagement photos to be about them and what makes their story unique.
I hope that in a few years they will be able to look at their engagement pics and be reminded of their sweet engagement period … The period when they were deeply in love and put spending some quality time with each other above everything.
